Torsten Kanzler, is a renowned DJ, producer and record producer from Thüringen, der seit über two Jahrzehnten die Techno-Szene maßgeblich mitgestaltet. Bekannt für seinen impulsiven and kraftvollen Techno from him, begeistert er das Publikum in weltweit bekannten Clubs and auf Festivals. Der Kanzler zeichnet sich durch seine Fähigkeit de ella aus de ella, die Menge mit eindrucksvollen Drum-Arrangements, knarzenden Synthesizern und tiefen Basslinien in seinen Bann zu ziehen. Der ehemalige Berliner verbindet seine Leidenschaft für Techno mit einem erfrischenden Sinn für Humor wie seine Liebe zu Sauerkraut und Eisbein.
Als Gründer von TK Records brings his experience in music production as well. Torsten Kanzler is not a Techno-DJ versierter, he is also an Entertainer, der jedes Event bereichert.
We have had the pleasure of interviewing him and this has been the result.
Can you tell us a little about your experience? Where are you from/how did you get into music? How did you learn to produce?
I was born in Wernigerode in the Harz Mountains and grew up in a tiny village called Sprötau. Music has been with me since I was a child. In my youth, I regularly recorded music on tape and then entertained my parents with it. But I got into techno more by chance. A friend once took me to a techno party and I was so blown away that from then on I only went to techno parties, bought a few old turntables and a mixer and invested all my money in records.
I learned to produce from friends. I made my first productions with DJ Mahatma, or rather he produced and I sat next to him and made requests. I’m a very ambitious person and want to be able to do everything myself, so I gradually learned the ropes myself.
Who have been your main inspirations (both musically and in “life”)? And how have they affected your sound?
I was musically inspired by artists like Chris Liebing, UMEK, Tom Wax, Sven Väth and Marco Remus, who probably hardly anyone knows today, but to whom I owe a lot.
How would you define your sound? And how has your sound evolved?
I would describe my sound as hard, very energetic techno, with melodic accents.
What can you tell us about your latest remix?
My latest remix for Milan Milano on the label Die Rakete Records is again a typical kanzler remix, straight ahead
Do you feel like the underground scene will continue to persist?
What underground scene ???
What projects are you working on right now?
I’m busy producing again, I have a lot of releases planned this year.
My next release is with Drea Perlon and will be released on 28.06. on my own label TKR
The next release will come tomorrow or Wednesday latest :)
