Todays Miami Encode artist interview welcomes Dubrovnik (UK), after his recent release we wanted to find out more!
How would you present/describe your work to someone who doesn’t know you?
House & Techno with a sprinkling of dub.
And your last record? How was it born? And where do you want it to lead?
It was released through a label set up by Simon Stokes for producers who have attended courses at SubSine academy in Glasgow, Scotland. It’s a community project with the remixes coming from friends who I met at the academy and they turned in great reworks of the original tracks. The artwork was done by another attendee Kirsten and the mastering and release work done by SubSine boss Simon Stokes.
What message would you like to convey to the public?
I have no message at all. I make music for djs to play in nightclubs :)
How do you make music? What is most important for you?
Get into the studio and attempt to transpire what is influencing me. It will never be prefect but there will always be a piece of work that you have produced at the end of it.
Is there a unifying concept behind your art?
Tracks for djs to play in nightclubs.
What makes you unique?
I can hold my breath underwater for an hour.
As for your studio, what is it currently composed of?
A laptop and Ableton Live.
What is the one instrument you would never get rid of, no matter what?
Ableton. Not really an instrument but a DAW that holds the instruments if that makes sense.
Do you have hope for the future of music? How would you like the future of the music industry to be?
What will be, will be. Hopefully the right people helping push the industry for the right reasons.
Can you reveal some future projects to us?
Upcoming releases on Ohm Series and Axaminer Records. Also a new project kicking off with Afterhours over the winter months – some studio time ahead ! :)
What makes you happy?
Quality music :)
What bothers you?
Bad music :(
