There are artists who, in order to go beyond their sound, have to get rid of their original name and create another, but then there are others who, in order to go further, have to rediscover themselves again, to create a sound whose starting point is not born both from the attempt to cross borders and to recover them. This is the case of producer Rico Casazza, who has just released “Emptiness Form” on the Moving Pictures label.
Over a decade, Rico Casazza has built a name with music that spans multiple genres. Diversity in music is at its core. He is currently best known for his electro/IDM productions, but he also likes techno, minimal, ambient and electronic music.
Rico’s sound has a common characteristic recognized by recurring themes; the nostalgia, melody and cosmic depth, that drags you, but without losing the energy.
“Emptiness Form” is a serious work, meticulously cared for, that lends itself to starting it and not coming back to reality until it’s finished: the headphones are like the oxygen cylinder that allows you to dive to the bottom of this great sound rotation, of this cosmic orbit, and being there in a state of hypnotic fascination.
In this world where speed is desperately sought and attention deficit is so high, such an album will be misunderstood among many people, even dismissed as really important. But you just have to have the patience and the will to stop, to breathe, to sink into it, to hold on there as long as you can, and admire its interior.
