Discover the journey, productions, and performances of an artist who turns versatility into an art form
In Spain, electronic talent is more than evident—wherever you look, you find artists constantly creating high-quality music. This is the case with Rafa Nandez, a DJ and producer with a solid career who continues to prove that there’s no aspect of the scene in which he cannot stand out.
Born in Ceuta, it was in 2009 when he left his hometown and moved to Málaga, a city that quickly embraced him, becoming a key part of his development and turning him into one of the scene’s reference figures. As an artist, he stands out for his distinctive groove and highly refined technique working with Maschine, being one of the pioneers in incorporating this tool into his DJ sets and transforming them into a hybrid between DJ and live performance.
TRAVELING THE WORLD
Rafa Nandez has been crossing borders for some time now, and 2026 is a clear example of this. On April 11, he performed in London at E1 (Black Studio) with the Groove Room promoter, and on Friday, April 24, he brought his set to Paris with Groove Nomade at Quaidelaphoto. His next international stop will be on June 6 in Braga (Portugal), at Lustre club.
However, it is in Spain where Rafa has truly consolidated his sound. At the end of this month, we’ll be able to enjoy his music at one of the booths at the Feria de los Países in Fuengirola, collaborating with This is Kaos from April 29 to May 3. On May 21, he will travel to the mecca of electronic music, Ibiza, to be part of the lineup for Eli Rojas’ Amazona party at Blue Marlin Ibiza. He will also be performing on June 18 at the Solaris Festival in Nerja.
TEACHING ACTIVITY
Rafa Nandez is not only a DJ and producer—his role as an educator is also highly rewarding. As part of the Musiluz team, Rafa brings to the classroom an experience that goes beyond theory. His professional insight becomes an invaluable resource for those who want to understand not only the “how,” but also the “where” and the “for whom” of today’s electronic music.
Rafa also organizes events through the academy where his students perform, such as the one held on April 19 at Trepaolla, in collaboration with the Excesso promoter.
In addition, on May 31 he will begin a residency every Sunday throughout the summer season at Maná (Los Álamos, Torremolinos), collaborating with the Kali promoter. And during the Málaga Fair, in collaboration with Maria Diabla, he will showcase his full electronic arsenal for eight consecutive days, from August 15 to 22. In all these events, his students will play an important role.
IN THE PRODUCTION STUDIO
Rafa Nandez has a long list of successful releases under his belt. One of his latest was “Te Veo,” alongside Eli Rojas, released on Hugel’s label, Make The Girls Dance. “Te Veo” is a track that blends melodic sensitivity with a clear dancefloor focus. In this collaboration, both artists find a balance between the emotional and the functional, shaping a track that connects both sonically and atmospherically.
Rafa Nandez will soon be delivering new material, including his latest collaboration with Angel Heredia, which is set to be released this year on the label of Málaga-based artist Kobbok.
