Celebrating 50 years of dance music, Amnesia represents the heart and soul of Ibiza’s electronic music scene. Spanning five decades of clubbing history, this exclusive collection brings together 50 tracks across a deluxe box set available as either 10 vinyl records or 5 CDs, offering a gateway into the legacy of one of the world’s most influential clubs—one that has helped launch some of the most iconic tracks and artists in electronic music culture.
The soundtrack to 50 unforgettable summers takes shape through a carefully selected collection of 50 tracks that reflect the breadth of Amnesia’s cultural influence. The compilation includes music by Donna Summer, Calvin Harris, Paul van Dyk, Candi Staton, Fred again.., Robert Miles, Laurent Garnier, Binary Finary and many more, while also featuring, as a vinyl exclusive, Maceo Plex’s remix of Faithless’ “Insomnia.”
The compilation has been curated by Les Schmitz, Amnesia’s legendary resident DJ, together with the club’s team and Frederik Emmerechts from N.E.W.S. More than just a greatest hits collection, the project was conceived as a documentary tribute, capturing the role Amnesia has played over the last five decades in championing music that has shaped electronic culture, genres and the careers of countless artists.
Every track tells a story and evokes a memory. This is not a playlist generated by an algorithm, but a carefully assembled collection chosen by the people who lived and helped shape that history, standing as a testament to the club’s enduring cultural legacy.
From the unforgettable piano melody of Eric Prydz’s “Pjanoo” to the irresistible groove of Hot Natured’s “Benediction,” the compilation traces the musical evolution of both Ibiza and Amnesia through multiple eras and genres. It journeys from disco classics such as Chic’s “Good Times” and Candi Staton’s “Young Hearts Run Free”, through the new wave anthem “Blue Monday” by New Order, to the rave spirit of the 1990s with Human Resource’s “Dominator.”
The compilation also pays tribute to some of the legendary residencies that defined the club’s identity. Alter Ego’s “Rocker” and Extrawelt’s “Titelheld” instantly evoke the iconic Cocoon era alongside Sven Väth, while Paul van Dyk’s “For An Angel” and DJ Tiësto’s remix of “Silence” recall the pivotal role that Cream played in shaping Ibiza’s trance legacy.
The eclectic influence of legendary resident Alfredo Fiorito is also woven throughout the collection with tracks such as Joe Smooth’s “Promised Land” and, naturally, Amnesia’s “Ibiza,” reflecting the legacy of the man who helped define the Balearic sound that continues to inspire the club to this day.
This anniversary collection celebrates five decades with one clear message: an invitation to dance from a club that has shaped the lives of entire generations. Since 1976, Amnesia has remained a sanctuary for those who choose music and the dancefloor over image—a place built around atmosphere, freedom and an unwavering commitment to authenticity.
