The leading house duo join forces with Hiya to deliver a spiritual and deeply emotional track
Bedouin return with their first release of 2026, teaming up with Lebanese vocalist-turned-producer Hiya for the emotionally charged single “Salaam.” Out now via their own label, Human By Default, the track blends ancestral spirit with forward-thinking production, continuing the duo’s vision of culturally expansive electronic music.
Built around a single word meaning “peace” in Arabic, “Salaam” unfolds as a sonic invocation. Hiya’s commanding vocal — raw, expressive, and shaped by deep cultural heritage — carries the song’s message through driving rhythms and immersive textures. Formerly known as Reem El Sharif, the artist behind Hiya steps into a bold new chapter with this collaboration, bridging pop legacy and underground energy.
“‘Salaam’ means peace in Arabic. Peace is not passive — it’s felt, lived, and spoken with the full force of the heart,” share Bedouin. “This track is our offering to the world, an ode to humanity’s shared pulse and to the timeless possibility that through music, we might find what history has always sought.”
The release follows a milestone year for Bedouin. In 2025, the duo expanded their international Saga brand with events in Tulum, Mykonos, ADE, and Ibiza, where the residency celebrated its seventh year and received a Vicious Award for Best House Party. Through their Human By Default imprint, they continue championing innovative music from both established and emerging artists.
