Volt EP marks the debut collaboration between Schott and Alicea on the newly founded Munich Techno label, Telur. This driving, energetic, and atmospheric channels release Detroit-inspired sounds with a fast-forward intensity.
Volt EP delivers three boomy, hypnotic tracks that capture the raw essence of Techno, crafted for deep immersion on the dancefloor.
We have had the pleasure of interviewing them and this has been the result.
Flowing Dream captures a unique energy. What were you imagining while creating this track?
Alicea: For me, Flowing Dream is like stepping into a dreamscape. I wanted the track to feel like floating above the clouds, where time slows down and emotions blend. The warm chords carry a hopeful, yet slightly melancholic feeling, which has always resonated deeply with me. I imagined people closing their eyes, dancing, and feeling that same dreamlike energy flow through them.
How do you design your tracks to connect with dancefloor crowds?
Schott & Alicea: Our goal is to bring energy and emotion together. We design our tracks with a clear sense of dynamics—hard kicks for raw energy paired with atmospheric and melodic elements that give the music depth. It’s all about creating a balance that works for both the peak-time crowd and the listeners who enjoy the subtler details.
Tell us about the synergy between you and Schott while producing Volt EP. How did you divide creative roles?
Schott & Alicea: The synergy between us comes naturally. Schott brings his years of experience as a producer and a love for straight, driving Techno. Alicea, with her genre-fluid approach, adds diversity and fresh ideas to our sound. Schott handles the analog tools with precision, while Alicea focuses on the flow and energy of the track, more from a DJ perspective—making sure the music works on the dancefloor. We complement each other perfectly and trust each other’s creative instincts.
What makes the tracks on Volt EP perfect for peak-time moments?
Schott & Alicea: Each track on Volt EP has its own energy. “Volt” is a driving, high-energy track that gets the crowd moving and pushing their limits. “Hunter” has a thunderstorm-like intensity but remains warm and atmospheric, blending Dub influences into its groove. “Chapulines” is more playful and dynamic, with uplifting moments perfect for keeping the crowd hooked. Together, the tracks are versatile, yet each delivers that powerful peak-time feeling.

How do you approach building a groove that keeps clubbers hooked for hours?
Schott & Alicea: A strong groove is all about layers and subtle evolution. We start with a solid kick and bass foundation and then build on it with percussions, effects, and melodic elements that weave in and out. The key is to keep the track evolving—small changes that maintain excitement without overwhelming the listener. We always aim for hypnotic, rolling grooves that pull people into the music and hold them there.
Do you test your unreleased tracks in your DJ sets? How does crowd feedback influence your final mix?
Alicea: Absolutely! Playing our unreleased tracks in DJ sets is the best way to test their impact. You can instantly feel if a track connects with the crowd—whether it’s the kick, the drop, or a melodic section. If something doesn’t land as we hoped, we adjust it in the studio. That feedback loop is invaluable for refining our final mix. I have tested my first track ‘Flowing Dream’ on a big festival stage this summer – that feeling was magical!
How does performing as a DJ impact the way you create music?
Alicea: DJing gives me a deep understanding of what works on the dancefloor—where the energy dips, where it builds, and how to create those unforgettable moments. This experience shapes our production process. I think about how a track will feel in a set: Is it for an opening, peak-time, or a closing moment? It’s important for us to create tracks that work in different parts of a set and resonate with the crowd.
Munich’s clubbing culture is thriving. How do local crowds respond to your sound?
Schott & Alicea: Munich has such a supportive and vibrant clubbing culture. We’ve always felt a strong connection to local audiences and our close friends who respond with genuine energy and love for the music. Clubs like Harry Klein and Rote Sonne have been instrumental in fostering this environment, even though challenges like rising rents and closures make it harder for the scene to survive. We believe Munich will always find a way to keep its spirit alive.
What’s the most memorable dancefloor reaction you’ve experienced to your music?
Alicea & Schott: One of the most memorable moments was during a DJ set at a private party in Austria when Schott played an early version of “Volt.” The energy in the room was electric—we could see our friends losing themselves in the music. Seeing their reaction to something we created was awesome and incredibly motivating. It reminded us why we make music – and we love to share it with our friends!
If you could describe the ideal setting for listening to Volt EP, what would it look like?
Schott & Alicea: The ideal setting would be a dark, intimate club with a powerful sound system, where the bass reverberates through your body. Picture a space filled with fog, strobe lights, and a crowd moving as one. It’s late at night, and the energy is peaking—that moment when nothing else exists but the music and the connection between everyone in the room. For a more personal experience, we also imagine listening to it on a long, nighttime drive—just you, the road, and the music taking you on a journey.
