The move comes at a pivotal moment in his career, aligning with his expanding event schedule and debut releases on esteemed labels like OVAVA Music. The label’s debut release, ‘Bamidele’, is already gaining international momentum. A powerful, groove-driven track, it fluidly navigates the underground scene while maintaining crossover appeal, marking DJ Hydra as one of the most exciting new talents to watch. Upon hearing DJ Hydra’s early demos, Mundy immediately signed two tracks, recognising his distinctive sound and artistic vision as a perfect fit for OVAVA’s artist-focused ethos.
With OVAVA already making waves through releases like Ollie Mundy’s ‘Kirima’ feat. Nes Mburu and Natalie Jane’s Afro-House debut ‘Amanea’, DJ Hydra’s upcoming singles will further cement the label’s influence in the genre.
