Nina Kraviz’s трип label once again challenges convention with the fourth chapter of its Hot Steel series — an experimental, borderless compilation that continues to redefine the framework of electronic music discovery. What began as an open call for unreleased music has evolved into a ritual of exploration, where Kraviz records a live session blending tracks from artists who respond to her invitation.
After previous editions in Moscow, Mykonos, and the Gobi Desert, Hot Steel: Round 4 takes place amidst the sweeping plains and vineyards of Mendoza, Argentina. The setting itself seeps into the music — there’s a warmth, a sense of vastness, and a subtle melancholy carried by the wind that moves through the compilation. The selection highlights a dialogue between continents: South American creators share space with producers from Europe and beyond, their sounds intertwined in an instinctive, almost telepathic coherence.
The result is both local and universal — a collection that channels the textures of the earth, the pulse of dance floors, and the experimental soul that defines трип. Hot Steel: Round 4 captures not just music, but a moment in time where intuition becomes language and geography becomes rhythm.
