On April 11, enjoy two stages—retro and modern—with a battalion of artists set to shake the Arenal of Córdoba.
Those who claim that breakbeat is a trend from the past are either living in a bubble or stuck in an outdated narrative. Because if you’re truly immersed in the electronic scene, you’ve probably noticed that breakbeat is a movement more alive than ever. A perfect example is the proposal of Híbrida Fest, a festival taking place at the Arenal of Córdoba on April 11. Two stages, retro and modern, where we’ll witness an incredible burst of energy delivered by a legion of international and national artists who will put us to the test from the very first minute.
A LINEUP FOR THE HISTORY BOOKS
Few breakbeat festivals can boast a lineup like the one Híbrida Fest brings to the table—a constellation of stars that will shine brighter than ever. Among them is Rennie Pilgrem, the godfather of breakbeat, landing in Córdoba for the first time in what will be his only performance in Spain. Rennie Pilgrem is not only living history of the genre; he is one of its architects. Club energy, funk, dub, jazz, and pure breaks. From the legendary raves of the 90s alongside The Prodigy, Carl Cox, or Sasha, to the creation of TCR and the birth of Nu School Breaks in London.
Ragga Twins is an influential London jungle duo formed by twin brothers David and Trevor Destouche, known in the scene as Deman Rockers and Flinty Badman respectively. Considered veteran MCs of the North London sound system “Unity,” the pair began their musical career around 1989, when they decided to join forces under the name Ragga Twins.
Alexandra Waks, aka Lady Waks, one of the best-known DJs in Russia and creator of “In Beat We Trust,” played a key role in the growth of breakbeat in Russia. Based in Saint Petersburg, IBWT has hosted club nights and festivals across the country and organized the world’s first breakbeat festival.
Mark XTC began his career as a DJ playing at venues such as Fantazia, Mythology, and the legendary Hacienda, where in the late 1980s he won the North West DMC DJ Championships. Producing with The Mix Factory, his track “Take Me Away” became one of the first rave anthems to enter the UK Singles Chart. Altern-8 will turn Córdoba upside down with their broken beats, unstoppable energy, and the iconic mask that became part of rave history.

MORE NATIONAL FIREPOWER
But Híbrida Fest isn’t built only on these major international artists. An impressive army of Spanish DJs forms the backbone of this edition, featuring both rising talents from the scene and established legends. No event this powerful could happen without the myth himself, the boss of Spanish breakbeat, DJ Karpin.
We’ll also enjoy special performances such as Legend Deejays, formed by Killer and Jordi Slate; The Brainkiller’s Special Retro Tear Out Set; and Tortu’s Franxis’90 Special Tribute.
B2B sets will also play a key role in this edition of Híbrida Fest. Highlights include collaborative sets by Jan B & Mr. Fli, Rasco & DJ Jonay, Terrie Kynd & Jottafrank, and the icing on the cake with Yo Speed & GUAU. The lineup is completed by talented artists such as Bass & Crash, Kültur, Lore Breaks, Norbak, Perfect Kombo, Seekflow, Ylia, Wally, Coofu vs Jimmy, Flyppin, and Obscure Sound.
CONCLUSION
If you love classic breakbeat or the newest sounds of the genre, if you want to experience something truly unique, if you want to immerse yourself in a musical style that shakes you to your core, then you have an unmissable date with Híbrida Fest on April 11 at the Arenal of Córdoba.
