“Every now and then you meet someone who reminds you why you fell in love with music in the first place” – Ørjan Nilsen on MEETCH
Rising US producer MEETCH kicks off a new chapter of major releases with his latest single ‘Body On Me’, a collaboration with beloved Norwegian dance superstar Ørjan Nilsen, out August 21st via Robotic Rumbling Records.
The track marks the first time the two artists have joined forces in the studio and delivers an explosive combination of high-octane electro, vocal stabs and jacking-inspired synths that gradually build towards a powerful, euphoric drop. An emotional dancefloor banger that perfectly reflects the production values of both artists, as MEETCH explains:
“I have always had a clear vision of how I want my music to sound and what I want my brand to represent. ‘Body On Me’ is the perfect reflection of that — it’s energetic, yet emotional; it allows people to see the dancefloor as their safe haven, it’s groovy, it’s fun and, above all, it’s a song for the people. I am everyone’s favourite robot, I am a man of the people and I want to bring groove, joy and happiness to the dancefloor.”
Speaking about the experience of working with Nilsen, whose 20-year career has established him as one of the biggest influences on the Northern European electronic music circuit, MEETCH explains:
“Working with Ørjan was an amazing experience. He brings so much legacy and knowledge, and I think together we managed to find the perfect balance between melodic house and peak groove energy. I can’t wait to see how people connect with the track!”
Despite having the opportunity to work with virtually anyone in the industry, Nilsen says it was his manager’s constant enthusiasm for the young artist that convinced him to meet MEETCH.
“The first time I heard about MEETCH was through my manager, who kept telling me about this new artist she had signed and how much energy, drive and passion he brought to the table. Then I met him in person, and it completely confirmed everything she had been telling me.
“I’ve been doing this for over 20 years,” he continues, “and, like everything, this industry has its highs and lows. But every now and then you meet someone who reminds you why you fell in love with music in the first place, and that kind of thing is what keeps me going. I love the groove MEETCH brings to his productions, and when you combine that with his approach to life and music, it was inevitable that sooner or later we would end up making music together. So here we are… and this is only the beginning!”
