The global electronic music industry reaches one of its peak moments with the arrival of ADE, and for producers MEETCH and TLUXX, that means it’s the perfect time to release their powerful new collaboration, ‘Thunder’.
Featuring the vocals of singer Carly Lind, ‘Thunder’ is a stunning showcase of classic progressive house, infused with warm melodies and building percussion that will have fans of both producers coming back for more. Immersive synths and deep, punchy percussion lay the foundation for the track, while syncopated rhythms and lush, high-frequency progressions add depth and spaciousness to the overall sound. Lind’s dreamy vocals float effortlessly over the composition, giving the single that hands-in-the-air energy that places it firmly in big-room territory.
The maturity of both producers shines through in their ability to let the track breathe rather than overload it with climactic moments. In fact, it is precisely the spaces between these moments that allow ‘Thunder’ to build towards each drop, much like the seconds between a flash of lightning and the thunder that follows.
“Thunder is like a reminder of the good and bad times you’ve experienced with ex-partners and friends,” explains MEETCH. “At the beginning of a new relationship, there’s so much excitement and enthusiasm. But, just like a storm, everything eventually settles down and comes to an end. It all depends on how you look at it. Sometimes storms can be really frightening and even cause damage. The same can happen with relationships and the people you meet. I know I’ve been through some pretty awful experiences and bad times with people. Just like a storm, the cycle repeats itself. And just like a song, you go back and listen to the tracks you love. Hit play on Thunder!”
“‘Thunder’ came together incredibly easily. Writing this vocal with Carly was a seamless collaboration. When it comes to electronic music, who better to work with than a real-life robot?” adds TLUXX. “We wanted to create a hybrid between house and progressive house for our upcoming showdown, ‘Pulse Theory vs Robotic Rumble’, and that’s exactly what we’ve done.”
Speaking about the inspiration behind the lyrics, Carly Lind explains: “While I was writing, I was thinking about my past relationships and how people never really appreciate everything you do until you’re gone. I thought there was an entire song in that idea, and so much more. So I brought them both the lyrical concept of ‘you’ll miss me when I’m gone’, and they got straight to work.”
Fans of both DJs had the chance to see them perform live during ADE at a very special joint pop-up event. Bringing their respective projects together, MEETCH’s Robotic Rumble and TLUXX’s Pulse Theory, the two artists shared the decks at Bar Bacan in Amsterdam on Friday, October 23, from 3:00 PM to 8:30 PM. The event also featured performances by Castor & Pollux, Heløwed, AFTERUS, Aldor, and Rikki, winner of the Tomorrowland DJ competition.
