For 50 years, Cerrone has remained one of disco’s most influential architects. His 1976 breakthrough “Love in C Minor”, which hits its 50 year anniversary this November, became an international hit before “Supernature” topped the US Dance chart, helping establish a body of work that has sold more than 30 million records worldwide. His music has since influenced and been sampled by generations of artists, including Daft Punk and Bob Sinclar, while continuing to shape the disco-driven pop and electronic music of today.
Asa Taccone is the Grammy-winning songwriter, producer and frontman behind Electric Guest, whose four albums have generated more than half a billion streams worldwide. Beyond the duo, he co-wrote and co-produced Portugal. The Man’s 7x-Platinum hit “Feel It Still” and has worked across an expansive range of projects with artists including The Weeknd, Carly Rae Jepsen, H.E.R., Charlotte Gainsbourg and Foster the People.
“Hell” continues Cerrone’s long-standing ability to move between eras without losing the pulse at the heart of his music. With Electric Guest bringing a distinctly modern pop sensibility to the track, the single offers another reminder that Cerrone’s sound remains as vital to the dancefloor now as it was at the height of disco.
