Their debut on Kendal’s French imprint Ritmo Fatale – Out Now – Get it HERE
With a pair of trance-laced, euphoria-driven tracks, London-based duo CLOSE PROXIMITY release new EP ‘Every Body’ with the focus on just that – the body. The two-tracker is out now on respected independent French imprint Ritmo Fatale. Founded by Toulouse DJ/producer Kendal in 2020, spanning trance, Italo-disco, Progressive, Electroclash & EBM; ‘emotional dance bangers crafted to hit your heart on the dancefloor’ from some of the most exciting fresh talent. Speaking of which…
CLOSE PROXIMITY are riding high after a splendid year including #1 best-selling artist in Beatport’s Trance (Raw/Deep) category, BBC Radio 1 plays and multiple Beatport Top 10 places. The pair superbly embed 90s progressive house, trance, proto-house, EBM and Italo influences into a contemporary club-focused sound which they’ve shared with ravers across Berlin, Kaunas, Krakow, Paris, New York and London, including a recent debut on HÖR Berlin.
New EP ‘Every Body’ is CLOSE PROXIMITY’s take on the Second Summer of Love in all its blissful freedom. Both tracks pull from the sacredness of the dancefloor in its intensity, urging towards an ultimate moment of sublimity – hands aloft, strobes slicing through dense smoke, everyone breathing and moving in synchronicity. With its ultimate high, the EP has captured collective ecstasy.
Title track ‘Every Body’: an addictive lead melody that barrels into rapturous progressive house pianos, unleashing unbridled energy paired with urgent assertive vocal riffs – an immersion into pure, voluptuous elation. ‘The Future’: seeking light amongst darkness, the peak-time melody is a hypnotic invasion of the senses with its melodic arps, portentous vocal, sustained synth chord builds and thrilling drops.
On Ritmo Fatale: ‘I love the hybridization of genres and I want to release music that does not reproduce the past but reinterprets it. The Label motto is No Past, No Present, No Future’ Kendal says. ‘The art direction is heavily influenced by 80s and 90s aesthetic and shaped by Cronenberg, Argento or Carpenter’s dystopian cinema’.
With an EP ‘everybody’ will want to dance to, ‘the future’ is bright for CLOSE PROXIMITY.
