After several years away from music, EMMË returns with a new artistic vision, paying tribute to his creative journey.
Emmanuel Prieto begins a new chapter in his creative path with the release of his debut EP “Factor 2”. The project is made up of five tracks that explore an eclectic sound, moving from cinematic to ethereal within a psychedelic celebration, without leaving aside the conceptual aspect; essentially, a sonic storytelling experience. “Factor 2” will be available on all platforms starting today, May 7, through Metrika’s Happy Accident label.
“Factor 2 EP” opens with “Darkest Sun”, a single driven by a soft and immersive downtempo energy, allowing the listener to get a sense of how this sonic journey will unfold. The path continues at a faster pace with “Black Lagoon”, which tells a trippier story courtesy of its dub basslines; the track feels more ethereal and slightly acidic in its drop.
To add a touch of sensuality to the experience, we find “Phantom Love”, where, through its vocals, we begin to feel the producer’s emotions, as he aimed to deliver something more electro-pop with a hint of early-2000s trance. This piece could become an iconic closing track for a set on a foggy morning, just as the sun begins its spectacular appearance.
Following that moment comes “Smile”, a playful track that invites us to surrender to its vibe and mischievous textures; it’s psychedelic, and its basslines take the lead of the EP, managing to bring a smile to our faces. To close, we have “Factor 2”, which tells the story of the young EMMË, integrating his guitar sound with the energy of celebrating life and a technospheric explosion. Ending the EP with this track showcases the different facets the artist has explored in becoming who he is today.
“Factor 2 is about remembering that the most fun, authentic, and creative things emerge when we become children again,” adds EMMË.
This release not only represents his authenticity, but also addresses themes such as personal transformation and the perception of time, combining a deep emotional charge with the dancefloor.
