A 20-track body of work celebrating identity, culture and connection, featuring the standout single “Take Me Home” with Wyclef Jean and Kah-Lo.
Acclaimed Haitian DJ, producer and cultural curator Francis Mercier has released his long-awaited debut album, Lakay (Home), via his own label, Solèy. Comprising 20 tracks, the album is Mercier’s most ambitious and personal project to date, exploring the meaning of home through a rich tapestry of sounds, stories and collaborations inspired by his travels around the world.
Named after the Haitian Creole word for “home,” Lakay (Home) is both a return to Mercier’s roots and a tribute to the people and places that have welcomed him throughout his career. Drawing inspiration from Haiti, Africa, the Middle East and beyond, the album blends organic rhythms, contemporary electronic production and diverse musical traditions into a sound that is deeply personal yet universally resonant.
The project reflects Mercier’s evolution into one of the most respected names in the global electronic music scene. From performances at world-renowned festivals such as Coachella, Tomorrowland and EDC, to appearances during Formula 1 race weekends and performances at iconic locations including the Pyramids of Giza, Petra, Ibiza, Costa Rica and many other international destinations, Mercier has built a career dedicated to connecting audiences across continents through music.
Through a carefully curated selection of collaborations with both established artists and emerging talents, Lakay (Home) pays tribute to the cultures and experiences that have shaped Mercier’s artistic journey while creating space for new voices to be discovered.
The album’s focus track, “Take Me Home,” featuring Wyclef Jean and Kah-Lo, perfectly encapsulates the project’s central themes of belonging, identity and connection, bringing together three artists whose music transcends borders and genres.
“This album is a tribute to every corner of the world that has welcomed me like home,” says Mercier.
The album arrives during a landmark year for the artist, who continues to strengthen his position among electronic music’s leading global talents through several major projects, including his residency at Hï Ibiza, one of the world’s most celebrated electronic music destinations.
More than simply a debut album, Lakay (Home) is a powerful statement of purpose—an exploration of heritage, movement and belonging that reinforces Francis Mercier’s belief that music is a universal language capable of bringing people, cultures and communities together.
