Tabula Rasa Records announces a new remix package for Clearcast’s single, “I Do,” deconstructing the original’s intimate and intricate programming into two distinct and potent new forms. The release, aimed squarely at the DJ booth, also includes an extended mix of the original track.
The first offering comes from 22-year-old Glasgow producer hiRobbie, who transforms “I Do” into an almost-speed-y, crystalline floor-mover. His remix masterfully interplays the lush, neo-futuristic grime synths of the original melody against a newly constructed, propulsive garage exoskeleton. With a residency on Subtle Radio and having recently supported Camoufly on his UK tour, hiRobbie is solidifying his status as a formidable new talent in the electronic landscape.
In contrast, the second remix is delivered by Los Angeles-based Filipino-American producer and Tabula Rasa label head, RamonPang. His interpretation is a slick, stumbling, and deeply introspective piece that tumbles over itself with restless, experimental synths that evoke the bleeding colors of a digital sunset. RamonPang is no stranger to esoteric sound design, with his previous remixes earning support from titans like Skrillex, Four Tet, Floating Points, and Ninajirachi. With upcoming performances alongside legends Machinedrum, Daedelus, and Tom Hall, he is poised to extend the label’s unique sonic footprint across both sides of the Atlantic.
Rounding out the package is an essential DJ tool: a previously Bandcamp-exclusive extended mix of Clearcast’s original “I Do.”
