MEMORASH: EMOTIONAL ELECTRONIC MUSIC BORN BETWEEN LIGHT AND DARKNESS

Birth is the first step of a cosmic journey that guides you through a path of stimulating and evocative sounds.
The electronic scene in Spain is at a historic moment—an undeniable state of maturity. And that maturity is reflected in projects like the one offered by Memorash, a concept that distances itself from the more superficial aspects of the industry, injecting into the hearts of electronic music lovers a highly recommended dose of complexity.
Memorash is a duo formed by two cousins from Cádiz, Kael and Liora (Juan and Irene to their friends). Although the project began as pure entertainment, they soon realized they had something interesting to communicate—something worth taking seriously—and decided to get to work.
The name Memorash was born from a mix of intuition and sound. They were captivated by its resonance—it feels both ancient and futuristic at the same time. It evokes memory, trace, a heartbeat that lingers even after it fades. It doesn’t stem from a specific story, but from a sensation.
Their musical style emerges from the blend of atmosphere and rhythm, working deeply with textures, layers, and silences. They care as much about what is heard as what is merely suggested. There’s melancholy, darkness, and a kind of electronic spirituality that runs through the project. Their sound lies somewhere between genres like downtempo and cinematic electronica, striving to be eclectic and unconfined to a single style.
Memorash also stands out for their aesthetic vision, a fundamental extension of their music that helps them build a distinct concept and universe. They rely on a powerful visual identity—graphics, color, image texture—everything is designed so that whoever approaches the project doesn’t just listen, but enters a world.
Although the project is recent, they are already set to release the preview of their debut album. “Birth” represents transformation, both personal and collective. The creative process has revolved around the idea that we are in a constant state of change—that we oscillate between light and darkness. The duo is conceptually drawn to esoteric mythology, which they reference while avoiding its determinism. They also weave in references to golden ratios and Fibonacci sequences, as if striving to reach the hidden perfection within those proportions. Finally, outer space, with its inherent mystery and melancholy, is present not only in Birth but in the very creation of Memorash itself.
“Birth” had its first release on October 10th, marking the gateway into the universe of their upcoming album. Two more singles are planned—one in November and another in December. The entire record has already been produced and comes accompanied by videos and visual materials aligned with the concept.
For Memorash, electronic music is not just rhythm—it’s a state, an emotion, a body, and an image. With those principles, they embark on an epic adventure, inviting all the brave and passionate to join them on this journey—a journey through the depths of a musical style rich in nuance and emotion.
