Boreal Festival received recognition for “Best Musical Programming” at the 2024 Canary Islands Music Awards
Boreal Festival will hold its 18th edition from September 16-20 in Los Silos (Tenerife). The leading music festival in the Canary Islands has launched its eighteenth edition, now open for ticket sales through the website www.tickety.es with the confirmation of the first artists on its 2025 lineup.
Following the success of 2024, Boreal Festival promises to offer another historic edition in Los Silos in an exercise in cultural decentralization. This municipality in northwestern Tenerife becomes a global musical showcase each year, hosting approximately twenty musical projects from different parts of the world.
Israel Fernández, La Otra, Jhana Beat, and Carmen Xía make up the first preview of the 2025 lineup for a show that, once again, goes beyond music, turning Los Silos into the cultural epicenter of the Canary Islands in September.
Singer Israel Fernández will arrive at the Boreal Festival to showcase the confluence of the purest legacy of traditional flamenco and the contemporary and transgressive feel that have already made the Toledo-born artist a leading exponent of the genre. Fernández has become an undisputed voice for understanding the current state of this profound and ancient genre.
For their part, La Otra and Jhana Beat will bring to the Boreal Festival the mature honesty of singer-songwriter La Otra’s (Isa Casanova) latest album; and the fun and explosive energy of beatboxer and producer Jhana Beat. The duo will take to the Los Silos stage with an electroacoustic format that complements each other in an incredible way.
Finally, in this first artistic preview, we have Cádiz-born Carmen Xía. She boasts a deep and powerful rap that combines tradition and modernity. Her sound draws from Andalusian folklore and flamenco as well as hip hop and electronica. Her music emerges from the fusion of Lola Flores’s copla, Lauryn Hill’s boombap, and Gata Cattana’s urban music to create a unique style that exudes power, message, and values in equal measure. Her concerts are a space for activism without neglecting partying, dancing, and love. A combination that fits perfectly with the Boreal Festival.
