In this version, Francis Mercier partially steps away from his usual afro-house focus to reconnect with his roots as a house and disco DJ and producer in New York. The result is a track with a strong groove, nostalgic sensitivity, and an energy designed for clubs, festivals, and broad audiences, bridging different generations of electronic music.
Show Me Love (Devotion) works both as a tribute and a reinvention: it respects the melodic and vocal identity of Robin S.’s classic, while wrapping it in a more contemporary production, with a modern house texture and a global dancefloor-oriented approach.
“As a Queens, New York native, and missing home due to constant, heavy international touring, I recently found myself listening again to one of my all-time favorite songs: the timeless dance classic ‘Show Me Love’ by Robin S., who is also from Queens. Inspired by that nostalgia, I set out to reimagine this classic as ‘Show Me Love (Devotion)’, incorporating house and disco elements that also reflect the type of house I was primarily producing 20 years ago as a local DJ in New York. To celebrate this collaboration and our shared hometown, Robin and I will perform the song together on June 14 in Brooklyn at Solèy, my headline showcase.” – explains Francis Mercier.
