KANA GAWA, soph’s first defined project available on all platforms this coming December 12
After releasing the single ‘Mi Brillo Quema’ soph presents KANA GAWA, her first EP. This work includes four songs, and combines urban pop, electronics and a heartbreaking intensity, creating a unique style, which soph has defined as “Brilliant Pop”. With deep lyrics and danceable rhythms, the EP is positioned as a cry of empowerment and authenticity. The EP is built around a narrative of personal improvement, among its songs stands out ‘Nunca Fuiste Mío’, which addresses in a raw and direct way a story of abuse, turning pain into a declaration of strength and overcoming.
In songs like ‘Nunca Fuiste Mío’ or ‘Shinin’ ’, soph has shown her facet as a producer together with D.Cotta, composing and shaping songs that explore personal reconstruction after experiences of pain. The lyrics deal with heartbreak, abuse, and above all, resilience, creating a powerful narrative that mixes raw emotions with innovative sounds. D.Cotta has been key in the production, exploring the limits of urban and electronic sounds, and contributing to the unique atmosphere of the EP. In addition, ‘Mi Brillo Quema’ is produced by Enry-K, an artist and producer recognized for his career and for his collaborations with C. Tangana, Cruz Cafuné and Delaossa, among others. His work brings versatility and quality to the song, perfectly complementing soph’s unique style.
This project is a statement of empowerment, an invitation to those who have felt dull to find their light and shine with their own strength, consolidating soph as a unique and essential voice in the experimental pop scene.
