Beyond the Moon Records label boss, Turkish producer and live act Aykut Bilir, has returned from his tour of Turkey’s Aegean coast and brings us a single produced in collaboration with Azeri Balaban master Rafael Asgerov. Balaban (also called Duduk, Mey) which gave the track its name, is a popular double reed wind instrument that can be found in the regions of Azerbaijan, Iran and Turkey. Emotive balaban melody meets deep, crunchy organic house beats and a warm bass line that keeps the energy going.
Now Aykut returns to the fray and does it with a serious work, meticulously cared for, that lends itself to starting it and not returning to reality until it is finished: the headphones are like the oxygen cylinder that allows you to dive to the bottom of this great sonic rotation, of this cosmic orbit, and being there in a state of hypnotic fascination.
Balaban, released from Beyond The Moon and premiered by the authentic YouTube channel Moose specialized in mixing music with visual arts. So far the track has received positive feedback from RIGOONI (Anjunadeep, The Soundgarden), Ziger (Progressive Dreamers), Slow Nomaden (3000Grad, trndmsk), Deep Filip (Klassified). He has been featured on Spotify’s biggest playlists in the respective genre by Gobi Desert Collective, Chris Luno, Hypsidia, Unique Playlists to name a few.
In this world where speed is desperately sought and attention deficit is so high, such an album will be misunderstood among many people, even dismissed as really important. But you just have to have the patience and the will to stop, to breathe, to sink into it, to hold on there as long as you can, and admire its interior.
