Last Sunday, June 1st, Chinois celebrated its now iconic free open-air party, PORTSIDE, for the third consecutive year, a gift to the island that once again brought thousands of people to the Port of Ibiza. The day, filled with top-notch music and community spirit, once again became a true celebration of the essence of the white island.
True to its commitment to gratitude and commitment to Ibiza, Chinois pays tribute each year to the residents, institutions, local businesses, workers, and visitors with this open love letter to the island. PORTSIDE is a gathering centered around inclusion, community, the unparalleled magic of the island, and the historical legacy of Dalt Vila. This year’s edition shone brightly, with a practically Ibizan sunset that provided an unbeatable visual backdrop for the world-class DJ sets that thrilled the audience from the port.
A luxurious lineup: the beloved LUCIANO, one of the most iconic figures on the local scene, returned to PORTSIDE for the third consecutive time, closing the evening with a magical set that included classics such as Armand Van Helden’s “You Don’t Know Me.” Alongside him, Chinois’ new Sunday residents and SAGA founders, BEDOUIN, gave an electrifying performance, presenting, among other tracks, their upcoming release “Heavy On My Mind,” due out June 27th. The event opened with a live performance by the hypnotic French artist ADASSIYA, whose voice captivated from the very beginning, followed by local talent and Beachouse resident, BRUZ. Acknowledgments: Chinois would like to express its special thanks to the Ibiza City Council, the Port Authority of the Balearic Islands, the Residents and Merchants Association of the Port of Ibiza, the Business Association of La Marina de Ibiza, the Merchants Association of Calle de la Virgen, and the Residents Association of Es Pratet. Their constant support has, once again, been essential in making this unique event, which reflects Ibiza’s vibrant club culture, a reality. Thanks also to everyone involved behind the scenes and to the local businesses for contributing to the success of this edition.
Luciano comments: “Since I left my country, Chile, 25 years ago, Ibiza has been like home. It’s a magical place. This party is an annual gathering where music, family, and a wonderful atmosphere come together… There’s something very special about the port. It’s one of the last free parties left on the island, and I think it’s essential to give something back to Ibiza and its people.”
Bedouin adds: “It’s been a fantastic experience, with an incredible production. Being able to play and give back something authentic to the island at an open event like this means so much to us. We couldn’t ask for more! We’re starting a new era at Chinois on Sundays starting June 27th and we’re very excited. Many surprises are coming!”
After the celebration at the port, many attendees continued the party at Chinois club, just a few steps away, where Luciano and Bedouin headlined alongside French producers Dorian Craft B2B Baron and Londoner Cameron Jack. The afterparty was held to a full capacity, providing the finishing touch to an unforgettable day, full of positive energy and community spirit.
