Drumcode is on a roll with its on-point DC4 EP series. The sixth volume drops with a fresh selection of heaters.
The compilation is both a breeding ground for new artists to break through on the label, while offering establish producers the chance to share strong standalone tracks.
German duo A.D.H.S. & Kos:mo unite for their first collaboration, ‘Taste of the Night’. The artists have independently released on Drumcode previously, with ADHS linking with Bart Skils for ‘Can’t Hear Your’ – a highlight of last summer. While Kos:mo is no stranger to the DC4 series, contributing the excellent ‘Samsara’ for DC4 Vol.2. ‘Taste of the Night’ is punchy and rugged, a crisp stomper that builds scintillating energy, before dropping back into slick rolling mode.
American DJ/producer Sam WOLFE is rapidly becoming a powerhouse in his field. He makes his Drumcode debut following a string of successful releases on labels including Experts Only, Filth on Acid, Octopus and 1605. ‘Control Delete’ is a chugging, low-end beast that pops via a commanding vocal and a captivating synth line.
Following a standout contribution to Truesoul last month with ‘LOUDERRR’ and numerous quality Drumcode releases, PETER PAHN returns to Adam Beyer’s label with ‘NOCTURE’. A regular fixture in Beyer’s sets for quite some time, the track further strengthens PETER PAHN’s growing relationship with Drumcode, delivering his signature high-energy, peak-time sound.
Gonzalo F is a rising Argentinean producer and another artist sharing his maiden Drumcode outing. With previous drops on 1605 and Volta, it’s no surprise he was on Beyer’s radar. ‘Disconnect’ beautifully juxtaposes tender vocals and melodies with a metallic underbelly of percussion. An inspired track that doesn’t sound like the rest.
