With her recent collaboration with Ilan Bluestone, ‘Eclipsed By You’, continuing to build momentum across streaming platforms and dancefloors worldwide, Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter HALIENE returns with her newest release, ‘Solar Waves’.
Radiant, immersive, and emotionally transportive, ‘Solar Waves’ is one of HALIENE’s most musically distinctive records to date. Built on an asymmetrical rhythmic structure, the track subtly shifts between mixed-meter from the opening to the final evolution. A delicately processed classical harp chord that underpins the groove, giving the production an organic, fluid undercurrent. Combined with airy synth textures and restrained percussion, the result is a surreal, weightless sensation.
That celestial lightness contrasts with the song’s deeply personal origin.
“I wrote Solar Waves while recovering from a major surgery last summer, during a season when I felt incredibly lost musically,” HALIENE recalls. “I couldn’t sing the way I normally do because my body was still healing, so I recorded the demo softly and breathily. What began as a limitation ended up giving the song an intimacy we fell in love with. At a time when I felt disconnected from my voice, writing this record brought my joy back and reminded me that creativity always finds another path.”
