We have had the pleasure of speaking with him and this has been the result.
Hello Juan Carlos, it is a pleasure to have you at DVOXMAG. Well, to start the interview itself…. How are you? Where are you currently living?
Hello, here I am constantly releasing music, having moved to my hometown, Oaxaca, during the pandemic helped me a lot to focus on production completely.
What can you tell us about this new single that you just released?
I started this single in 2020 when the pandemic had just started, however it had been forgotten and a few months ago when he found it again, he decided to give it its final details and release it.
It has many of my trance influences with which my electronic music journey began.
What can you tell us about the label and its way of working?
At the moment I am only releasing my own music, perfecting the mixing and mastering focused on dance music and then inviting more artists to participate, in addition to working on a social club here in Oaxaca under the same label name.
Let’s get geeky, what instruments do you usually use in the studio? What is your favorite synthesizer? What criteria do you use when producing your own songs?
Most of my tracks are made with similar hardware, drum machines, synthesizers that go through preamps, my favorites are the Analog Rytm from Elektron and the modular one that I have been constantly building and modifying for years, without a doubt a great tool. to create very characteristic sounds from scratch.
Can you recommend any artist or artists that you have listened to lately?
I really like the Mexa scene, it has been booming for a couple of years and I am very excited to see more national artists breaking it all over the world.
And finally, what can you tell us about what’s coming in 2024? Tours, releases?
I will be releasing music every month with Portal as well as dates here in Mexico and in October in Europe. The goal is to open the club on the Day of the Dead so we are focusing more on that.
