The ever-funky Jon Delerious is back on Nordic Trax with a fresh collection of grooves! Marking his first solo release for the label since 2021’s “Can’t Hold Back,” the Canadian maestro delves into a four-track EP filled with future funk destined for the dancefloor.
The journey begins with “Virtual Love,” a bumpy, acid-funk track that embodies the spirit of West Coast house, sure to delight fans of LawnChair Generals and Siesta Records. Following this, we have “Soul Clap Revisited,” a mid-tempo jam exuding a breezy, summertime vibe. It’s an instant classic that invites you to sit back and let the groove take control.
The title track, “Deepest Hour,” sees Jon returning to his deep house roots with a dubby exploration. This dancefloor groover has an understated yet captivating vibe – a deep dive into the heart of house music. The EP closes with “Fever Crystal,” where Jon channels his inner raver, delivering another journey into classic West Coast house territory with a dubbed-out, beat-driven experience.
Hailing from Calgary, Jon Delerious is a staple of the Western Canadian music scene. His 2018 release “Let’s Work” [NT094] became his best-selling record on the label after two decades in the industry. The title track hit the deep house Top 20 on Beatport and Traxsource, garnering support from heavyweights like Groove Armada, Nick Warren, Kyodai, Jamie Trench, Pawas, Rob Da Bank, Kid Enigma, The Revenge, Giom, and Danny Tenaglia, among others.
In addition to his work on various other prominent labels, Jon’s recent projects for NT include a standout collaboration with UK producer Finest Wear (“To The Bounce,” NT121) and a superb remix for newcomer Glennny (“Now You Know,” NT126).
