Chicago-born trailblazer Lee Foss continues his superb run of form on Repopulate Mars with a high-profile collaboration alongside GS5 on the three-track ‘Matter of Time’ EP, out November 28.
Title track ‘Matter Of Time’ marries grinding basslines and slinky percussion with a heart-wrenching vocal sample, while signature drums power onwards with a futuristic edge. Next up, ‘WANNAGO’ pairs sultry R&B vocals with a bumping groove – it’s stripped back yet warm, and packed with romantic energy that will turn any dancefloor steamy. Closer ‘Naivasha’ is the most direct of the lot, with UK bass signifiers, old-school synth motifs, and low-end wobbles all worked into a driving groove. A pitched-up vocal adds an alluring Eastern twist to this fresh, distinctive sound.
