German producer MAZ’N has always made music. He sang in cover bands, performed on big stages as a background singer and was a studio musician. He is also a pianist, played clarinet in orchestras and taught himself how to play the drums. So when he started his own MAZ’N project, his past influences blended into a signature mix of electronic beats, melancholic sounds and melodies that can vary from dreamy to determined.
In 2020 the EP “Rising” was released and in 2021 things went uphill with the album “Renewal”. MAZ’N got coverage from the relevant magazines, had top rankings in FAZE magazine and did numerous interviews. This was followed by live performances and more than 20,000 monthly listeners on Spotify. Meanwhile, MAZ’N and his driving beats made him a festival favorite. In 2022 the EP “On My Mind” was released. The EP features his melodic house sounds, and even a track with a downtempo clarinet. In 2023, MAZ’N released “Without” in Christian Löffler’s “Wir” mix. In August next single “Runaway” will be released on the 3000 Grad label.
“Runaway” is a musical progression from last year’s single “Morning Lights”. Similar in sound but even more driving and with a pushing bass. It describes the feeling of running and fleeing without a destination.
“MAZ’N” is a name to remember. It’s also a play on the word “maison”, which is French for “House”.
