R.Missing releases his new single called “New Present City”. The track begins with a pas de deux of drum machine and noise. Then distant vocals and basses emerge to paint the dystopian cityscape of the first verse: brilliant. Juno synthesizers join in the chorus of the lyrics, “New Present City, why did you forgive me?” This concept is represented by the French filmmaker Dominique Eyraud in the official film of the song starring Emilie Lacape and Nel Jude Lene (filmed in Charleroi, Belgium).
“New Present City” is a serious piece, cared for with care, that lends itself to starting it and not returning to reality until it is finished: the headphones are like the oxygen cylinder that allows you to dive to the bottom of this great sound rotation, of this cosmic orbit, and being there in a state of hypnotic fascination.
In this world where speed is desperately sought and attention deficit is so high, such an album will be misunderstood among many people, even dismissed as really important. But you just have to be patient and want to stop, breathe, sink into it, hold on there as long as you can and admire its interior.
