For KAAZE, sound has never existed in isolation shaped by years of touring, changing cities and inspiration sparked by scent. After more than two years of development that way of thinking takes physical form in Pistache, a bespoke unisex fragrance crafted by KAAZE in collaboration with luxury perfume house Fragrance Du Bois.
As a producer and performer, he has spent over two decades building a career around energy, emotion and sensory connection, while fragrance has remained a constant source of inspiration in the studio, quietly informing the atmosphere, feeling and direction behind his signature sound.
“I lead with my nose, as much as my ear, when I’m writing music,” says KAAZE. “If I want to create a summer, Ibiza-style record, I reach for notes of citrus and coconut, fresh aromatics that then influence the tempo, key, and in turn the musical notes I produce.”
Pistache is the result of more than two years of hands-on development. Housing a personal collection of over 200 perfumes, KAAZE worked closely with Fragrance Du Bois, with added input from Dalia Izem at Givaudan, approaching every stage of creation with the same process he brings to the studio: refine, rework, refine again.
With production credits and collaborations spanning artists including Steve Aoki, Calvin Harris, David Guetta and Hardwell, KAAZE has remained a fixture in the DJ Mag Top 100 DJs Poll since 2021, while amassing more than 500 million streams worldwide. Holding a fierce reputation for balancing precision with intensity as an artist, Pistache reflects those same qualities in its fresh aroma that is both sophisticated and energetic.
The collaboration marks a natural evolution of the wider KAAZE universe, where music, performance, style and sensory experience exist as one creative language. During the first of his two performances at Tomorrowland, Belgium, his debut at the world’s biggest music festival, KAAZE shared an early preview of Pistache backstage with close collaborators and friends including Steve Aoki and Will Sparks.
Opening with creamy pistachio, caramel drizzle, drawn from KAAZE’s favourite destination Rome, and wild hibiscus, from tour stops in Tokyo, Pistache develops into smooth coconut, Brazilian coffee and delicate jasmine before settling into Madagascar vanilla, bourbon cream and soft musk, a confident, warm finish inspired by Las Vegas. The result is a fragrance that mirrors the balance at the heart of KAAZE’s creative identity: intensity and elegance, movement and precision.
