September 26, 2025—Lisbon-based duo MXGPU, the collaborative project of electronic innovator Moullinex and singer/producer GPU Panic, today release their long-awaited debut album SUDDEN LIGHT today via Discotexas. A bold statement of identity, the record captures the pair’s singular vision for immersive, emotional, and genre-bending electronic music.
Anchored by the soaring focus single “into flames”, SUDDEN LIGHT traverses intimate ballads, cinematic synthscapes, and cathartic dancefloor anthems. Built on raw, heartfelt vocals and lush analog textures, “into flames” distills the project’s ethos: finding beauty in vulnerability and transcendence through connection.
“into flames” was the last track we finished for the album. It took a lot of back and forth, many different shapes and sizes until we landed on this version. Maybe because of this fact, its sonics are probably the ones we connect the most to “SUDDEN LIGHT”. Thematically it’s about falling madly in love with someone, and not being able to contain these feelings inside ourselves any longer.” -MXGPU
The album is a journey through diverse sonic terrain: the fan-favorite “take me home” blends synthwave with electronica in a cathartic anthem that quickly became a live staple; “find u” pushes into liquid drum & bass with a raw, experimental edge; while “slow down” captures the project’s meditative side with whispered vocals and hypnotic rhythm. New highlights include the euphoric “ease” (featuring Malou), the driving pulse of “the fall,” the nocturnal tension of “shout in the dark,” and the closing reflection “symptom of u.” Together, these tracks crystallize MXGPU’s commitment to pushing beyond genre boundaries while staying anchored in emotional honesty.
“SUDDEN LIGHT is an interruption. A shout in the dark. A spark of transformation. A sudden rush of clarity. Our coming together as Moullinex and GPU Panic, and step towards MXGPU.” -MXGPU

Surrounded by sci-fi visuals, James Turrell-inspired lighting, and walls of sound shaped by Moog, Arturia, Teenage Engineering, and Dreadbox gear, the night encapsulated the duo’s vision of dissolving the boundary between performer and audience.
In October, MXGPU will bring their world across the Atlantic for the first time, making their U.S. live debut with headline shows at Silo (Brooklyn, Oct 2) and The Roxy Theatre (Los Angeles, Oct 4). Additional tour dates across Europe and beyond will follow, marking the start of an expansive new chapter for the duo.
