Afrojack and Hardwell team up on exciting new single “Push It” featuring Meryll
Dutch electronic dance music icon AFROJACK, is known across the globe as DJ and producer. He colabrated with Pitbull on their six-times platinum “Give Me Everything”, scored solo-hits like “Take Over Control” and together with David Guetta picked up a Grammy for their remix of Madonna’s Revolver. Recently Afrojack teamed up with fellow Dutch dance music icon Hardwell, a two-time world number one DJ. Hardwell scored global hits such as “Spaceman” and “Apollo”, and most recently propelled the Big Room Techno scene with his album REBELS NEVER DIE. And now there’s the uplifting single, “Push It.” This exciting collaboration is a joint release of AFROJACK’s WALL Recordings and Hardwell’s Revealed Recordings and features singer/songwriter Meryll.
Following collaborations on “Hollywood” in 2016 and “Hands Up” in 2017, AFROJACK and Hardwell continue to combine their popular styles on “Push It”. The track begins with a snappy electronic beat, before it fades to give way to an echoing mantra: “Push it, pull it, spin it, I’ve got it”. The hypnotic vocals are provided by singer-songwriter Meryll, best known for her collaboration on Fisher’s “Yeah The Girls.” Creating a wave of euphoria that is sure to draw anyone to the dance floor, “Push It” will rock bars, clubs and festivals, and is OUT NOW.
AFROJACK has had a prolific year. In May, he completed the new home of WALL Recordings, his artist development label. WALL Recordings’ new studio and headquarters complex features multiple state-of-the-art studios, sleeping and office spaces, content stages and more against the backdrop of a stunning Belgian countryside. Recently at the Amsterdam Dance Event, AFROJACK spoke on a keynote panel. He discussed his evolution from groundbreaking artist to global dance music icon and founder of WALL Recordings. WALL has launched a number of successful musicians, including R3HAB and Quintino, who both landed in DJ Mag’s top 30 this year. During this panel, he also announced WALL’s new partnership with Tomorrowland’s official music academy. As a coach, AFROJACK will use his 15+ years of music industry experience to provide tutorials on production, mixing, mastering and more. This collaboration will be the PRO addition to Tomorrowland Academy’s upcoming online platform, created to increase user skills, understanding and success. AFROJACK has also expanded its collaboration with One World Artists, Tomorrowland’s official artist management and booking agency.
After closing his previous sound in 2018, Hardwell shut one chapter of his career in preparation for the next. His resurgence in recent years, since his historic performance at Miami’s Ultra Music Festival in 2022, has seen the world-renowned artist unveil his second studio album, REBELS NEVER DIE, and usher in a new era for one of the most important stars of electronic music. Armed with the new 14-track album, Hardwell returned to touring in 2022 with a 24-date world tour headlining shows and festivals including Amsterdam’s Ziggo Dome, Ultra Europe, Soundstorm Festival, Ushuaïa Ibiza, Untold Festival, Creamfields and Tomorrowland. More recently, Hardwell did a series of projects including remixes for the David Guetta/Benny Benassi reworking of “Satisfaction” and Calvin Harris’ “Miracle” (featuring Ellie Golding). Hardwell has also released a series of new singles and collaborations with artists including Maddix, Space 92, Timmy Trumpet, Azteck/Alex Hepburn, Will Sparks and Nicky Romero. After a two and a half year hiatus, Hardwell recently announced the return of his popular radio show, ‘Hardwell On Air’. The show, previously a mainstay in the dance music scene, will return to delight fans around the world.
