Cabana Music, an independent Brazilian label passionate about music, exists to unleash the creativity of producers. Each release is a sensorial journey, with textures that caress the ears, cores that paint the air and flavors that envelop us. “Pole Doesn’t Work EP” seems to reflect your deep connection to electronic music. How did your long-term experience in the industry influence the creative process behind this EP?
I believe that, in a very simple way, it reflects the lack of concern with labels and trends, and it amplifies the desire to experiment with different things and trust the sound that moves me, that comes from within my soul. What motivated you to release this project with Cabana Music, and how did the label’s ethos align with your artistic vision?
Cabana, in general, is a label with which I strongly identify. I really enjoy listening to what is released there, so I always feel connected and directly influenced in what I produce. It might be the national label with which I identify the most.
How do you ensure that each new release, including “Pole Doesn’t Work EP,” offers something fresh while staying true to your signature sound?
I never seek out any references, only what comes from within me when I produce. Thus, each work ends up being unique and different, but always with the same characteristics.
What are the main themes or messages you aimed to convey through this EP?
The main message is to try to bring a sound with more depth, one that has soul. To value this, to value music with soul.
How do you approach live performance differently after producing a new record like “Pole Doesn’t Work EP”?
It doesn’t change much; the philosophy remains the same.
What role does the Brazilian music scene play in shaping the sound and direction of your work?
I really enjoy listening to MPB and bossa nova. I believe that the great artistic inspiration that Brazil can offer me comes from there…
How did Cabana Music support your artistic process, from concept to final production, for this EP?
Cabana is a label that opened doors for me from a very early stage, and I have an excellent affinity with the label. I really like what is released there, and as a result, collaborative work flows naturally.
