Marta Tchai presents the single “Mi deserción,” the latest advance from “Memoria Infinita,” which will be released on May 23rd. After the release of the single “La Velocidad,” the Extremaduran artist releases “Mi deserción,” a song produced by Edu Baos. “It’s the last single from the album. I think it’s one of the saddest songs I’ve ever written. When I sent it to Edu Baos to produce, he refused to dwell on that sadness and gave it a new lease on life, taking it to the realm of simple, energetic pop. I liked it because it fit with the essence of the chorus, full of rage, that rage born from the helplessness caused by situations we can’t change. It’s a self-help song, one of those that, when you finish, you feel like you’ve understood something about yourself or about someone else, something you were struggling to accept.” Marta Chai Memoria Infinita; Marta Tchai’s most personal album, recording began in July 2023 with Sergio Salvi, who produced four songs on the album. Edu Baos would finish the rest in his Zaragoza studio. This is an eclectic work by nature; the unity lies in the theme, in the concept underlying each of its songs, which could be summed up as “the snake that dies its tail,” the self-sabotage of all possibilities. As if memory retained the apprehended failure and saw no other way out than the infinity of repetition. Both producers (Sergio and Edu) put their identity into the sound, just as Paco Loco would do the same in “Ceremonia,” a musical track also featured on the LP Memoria Infinita. Different productions, over a broad span of time, but revolving in the same direction and with the same centripetal force. |
