Known for her innovative approach to Afro House, SHADU has become a favorite on dancefloors worldwide. But her rise has been fueled by more than just beats. It’s the emotional connection she builds with her fans and the authenticity behind her music. In this interview, SHADU opens up about her music, her inspirations, and the fans who keep her going.
SHADU, you’re known for your strong emotional connection with the crowd. How do you achieve that connection during your sets?
“For me, it’s all about the people. I do everything for the crowd. When I step on stage, it’s about creating an energy exchange. I’m not just playing tracks — I’m creating a vibe that they can feel, and they give it back to me. That’s what fuels me. If the crowd is with me, I know I’m doing my job right.”
What inspired you to start producing Afro House music?
“It’s the sound of my soul. I’ve always been drawn to music that has rhythm, that makes you feel something deep inside. Afro House just spoke to me in a way that nothing else did. It felt authentic and powerful, and I wanted to be a part of that. It’s an expression of freedom for me.”
You’ve been working with Meyer on your projects. What makes this collaboration special?
“Meyer and I have this really great creative synergy. We both bring different ideas and perspectives to the table, and together, we create something that’s unique. It’s a really natural partnership, and I think that’s why our music resonates with people.”
What’s the next step for you? Are there any goals or dreams you’re working towards?
“There’s so much on my list. I’m working towards playing bigger festivals like Ultra, Coachella, and Tomorrowland. I want to reach more people, connect with more fans around the world, and share my sound on a global scale.”
